Mississippi Blues Guitarist and Vocalist Chris Gill is a musician who believes in bringing a wide variety of tones to his listeners. From acoustic and resonator slide to dirty P90 grit, and all kinds of Blues in between! Lately the "smokey" tones that his cigar box guitar brings to the mix has added a nice spice to his slow blues and funky Hill Country grooves.
Gill's original songs are a mix of Juke Joint Boogie and Piedmont style finger picking. His influences of Taj Mahal, Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, Elizabeth Cotten and Lightnin' Hopkins definitely comes out in his songs.
Gill is a regular performer in the Mississippi live music scene. He has played all types of festivals over the last 10 years. In addition, Chris was an International Blues Challenge finalist.
In a festival setting, Gill can add an array of Blues energy to the sound, from solo to a 6-piece band. What he brings to the party depends on the gig.
