About the event
Mississippi-born guitarist Shelby Kemp has spent over a decade chasing the Delta blues and classic rock roots that first inspired him, blending soulful guitar work with raw authenticity. In 2016, he formed Royal Horses, touring the South for years through dive bars, beach clubs, and every stage in between, playing rock, country, and blues. In 2020, a chance meeting with Eddie Roberts led to the formation of The Lucky Strokes, alongside Chris Spies, Taylor Galbraith, and Ashley Galbraith, producing their first album and hitting the road to open for The New Mastersounds. In 2024, Shelby won first place at the prestigious Telluride Blues Challenge, performing both a full-band set and a solo acoustic set on the festival’s main stage, cementing his reputation as a dynamic force in contemporary blues.
