Carter’s Champions is a local Mississippi Gulf Coast charity founded in 2016 by John Carter and Jourdan Derouen. Their mission was to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. In 2020, the charity made the decision to dedicate their fundraisers and donations to local women and men affected by breast cancer. They partnered with the non-profit 501(c)(3) Memorial Foundation as the Carter’s Champions Breast Cancer Fund. Donations raised throughout the year provide breast cancer patients, at Memorial Health System, direct financial assistance for treatments, co-pays, medicine, transportation to appointments and other needed supplies or medical services. Carter’s Champions also provides funds for early detection support through mammograms and breast ultrasounds for uninsured and underinsured patients. 100% of donations given to the Foundation stay in our community.
