About the event

Kenny Brown was born in New Orleans, where he started to play bass at the church at the age of eight. He started playing guitar, his current instrument, at 14 years old and started his professional career at age 18 when his band opened a show of Tina Turner in Donaldson Ville in Louisiana - New Orleans. Guitar player and singer, with blues and soul influence, R&B, Funky, and Rock’nRoll as well, Kenny is a fine example of the mix of the city’s cultural references. He has played with known artists such as The Neville Brothers, Bobby Womack, Marva Wright, Gloria Gaynor, and Beau Jones, besides having taken part in Jam sessions with Guns n Roses guitar player, Slash, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, at his performances at the 544 Club, where he performed with his cousin, the sax player Gary Brown for 22 years. He also participated in a Jam Session with Ron Wood (Rolling Stones guitar player). He went to Brazil to play with the gospel singer Tayra Darnel at the opening of the nightclub Bourbon Street Music Club in Sao Paulo in 1992. In his setlist the variety and a mixture of the black rhythms from his city, the cradle of the afro American music. As if the guitar solos were enough, Kenny Brown has a voice quite unique, strong, and pleasant. He gets you into the music. The connection with the public spreads as a relaxed atmosphere, playing classic blues and original songs. As he defined himself, his music strolls through the blues with bits of Funk and Soul, his true roots. His talent and skill at the guitar bring him into the spotlight. His laughs and way of conducting the music, his slang, everything drives on to the melting pot of bluesman and showman that Kenny is.

GZ House Band is led by Lead Guitarist/Vocalist Titus Gillard and Vocalist Danyell Hall.
